Transfer of Ownership

To transfer the ownership of your vehicle to another party or to add someone else to the contract, please do the following:

  • Complete a credit application. To request a credit application, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-945-8000 or email.  
  • Attach written request explaining whom you want to add, why you want to add them and include your account number on this request.  
  • Mail to our correspondence address:

  • Your account may be assessed a non-refundable fee upon receipt of the credit application.

*A faxed credit application will be accepted; however you must also mail the original application with your signature to the address listed above. The fax number is 615-315-6786.

Once the information is received, the customer and applicant will be notified within 5 business days of the decision.

If the applicant is approved:

  • A transfer package will be mailed to the original customer.
  • A letter of notification will be mailed to the applicant.
  • The account must be current, including late charges and/or miscellaneous fees.
  • Applicant is responsible for any registration/titling fees.
  • Timeframe to complete transfer is 4-6 weeks.

If the credit application is denied, both parties (original customer and applicant) will be contacted by phone. A letter will be mailed to the applicant regarding why the application was denied.

Note: Transfer of Lease or Equity MAY NOT release the original customer from liability.
